Of late, the Baadshah of Bollywood- Shah Rukh Khan has been maintaining a low profile. After all, he has been busy shooting for two of his upcoming films namely Priyadarshan' Billoo Barber and Aditya Chopra's Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi. But you can't keep King Khan out of action and out of news for long. Can you?



Shah Rukh Khan was spotted shooting for Aditya Chopra's Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi along with newcomer Anushka Sharma at the beautiful Golden Temple in Amritsar early this week. However, what caught our instant attention was the fact that King Khan was sporting a moustache during the shoot. This was a far cry from his look in any of his recent releases and did come as a pleasant surprise. SRK has earlier sported a moustache in films like Paheli, Army and English Babu Desi Mem to name a few. But his look in with specs et al in this Yash Raj production has taken everyone by surprise. This time around, looks like the actor is playing a matured character. Wonder what other surprises director Aditya Chopra has in store for all of us. As for newcomer Anushka, she looked every bit the Punjabi kudi.



Must say after seeing Shah Rukh in this new look, the curiosity to know more about Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi only increases for all die-hard SRK fans.

A look at Anil Kapoor starrer international film, Slumdog Millionaire

If you thought that the most easiest way to become a crorepati is by participating in the innumerable game shows on TV, then its about time that put on your (re)thinking caps! If actors like Big B, SRK, Govinda and Anupam Kher made millionaires out of the common man on TV, then, our very own Anil Kapoor has come up with a 'Jhakaas' idea of making millionaires on the silver screen! He will be very soon seen playing the role of a quiz master in the Hollywood flick Slumdog Millionaire which is being directed by the Hollywood ace Danny Boyle. With the kind of reports that the film has been carrying, it has already become the talk of the town even before its release! And the good news is that the most eagerly awaited film of the season is gearing itself for a North American release on November 28th 2008, courtesy Warner Bros. and Fox Searchlight.


Till then, here is a dope on the film for all the curious souls! Slumdog Millionaire has all the ingredients required that goes in the making of a 'masala' film, including comedy, romance, drama interspersed with some emotional moments! It's a tale of an 18 year old orphan, who is a 'resident' of the Mumbai slums. The film shows him participating in the Indian version of the worldwide hit TV show 'Who Wants To Be A Millionaire' which has got Anil Kapoor as its host! But the plot gains momentum when the teenage participant gets arrested on the grounds of malpractice and that too at a time when he is just one question short of hitting the jackpot! It is here when he pleads for his innocence by recalling his life in Mumbai, and also 'revealing' the secret behind his success on the show.

In order to find out what the 'secret' is all about, you will have to wait till the release of the film.

Kapoor Khandaan to watch Bachna Ae Haseeno

There's much happiness in store for Ranbir. But nothing can compare with the joy of the entire Kapoor family gathering together at Pune to watch Bachna Ae Haseeno on the opening day.

"They had all gone for Daboo (Randhir) Uncle's house- warming in Pune (he has bought a place there). All forty of them. My parents and I were in Mumbai for the release with me. But the rest of the Kapoors trooped in to E-Square at Pune. I spent three hours discussing the movie with them on the phone. What a heartwarming feeling that was! We've always been a closely-knit family. It's just that it shows up now. My family has always been a support. They don't flatter me. They also tell where I'm going wrong."

Ranbir admits he's shy and introverted. "The only friends I have are people who've been with me from childhood. I don't have to hang around people in the industry to prove I'm a social. My audiences matter the most. Today I'm getting more messages than I did after Saawariya. Mr Saif Ali Khan and my cousin Kareena sent me the sweetest messages. I guess I am getting more experienced and secure today so I'm enjoying the attention."

You guys heard it here first and that too straight from the horse’s mouth.

Remember the famous Amitabh number Khaike Paan Banaras ...? Big B reveals that the inspiration for his dance steps came from son Abhishek’s dance moves. “Abhishek was with me on the sets and he was very tall for his age and he was generally grooving to the song and I just copied it,” says Amitabh. And guess what Abhishek said to that? “Now it’s out in the open, even Amitabh Bachchan copies Abhishek.” Quite a revelation!

Katrina's mastering Hindi

The gorgeous Katrina Kaif is on a new mission. Any guesses what she’s up to?

We hear that she’s learning Hindi and has finally mastered the language. “Nowadays she speaks in Hindi with Salman Khan and her friends as well. In fact, during her appearance in Salman’s TV show, she spoke in Hindi,” says her friend.

And, coming soon will be a Prakash Jha’s film where we hear Kaif has given full length dialogue in Hindi. A source revealed, “Prakash Jha was very impressed with the way Katrina took up tutorship in the Hindi language. Katrina plays a very serious role in Prakash Jha’s film Rajniti and wanted to be perfect for it. Thus, the lessons in the Hindi language. This is for the first time that Katrina is playing character so serious by nature. Prakash Jha felt that presenting Katrina in a never-before-seen role was a challenge and the director confident of succeeding at it.” Let’s hope her voice is not dubbed like her earlier movies!

Kareena Kapoor and Saif Ali Khan's Love

Bollywood's hottest couple Kareena Kapoor and Saif Ali Khan made apperances at the Zee Carnival held in Secaucas, New Jersey on August 29th-September 1st. The two opened up to fans about their relationship. A Q&A between the couple and their fans made Saif and Kareena spill out their secrets. When Saif was asked what was the sweetest think he ever said to Kareena he refrained from answering by saying " that would be to cheezy ask Kareena," Kareena answered by mentioning that Saif hadn't said anything cute to her in three days. Khan promised to make up for that!

The Q&A included a question to career about what her favorite film was. She answered "Jab We Met." That happens to be the film with her ex beau Shahid Kapoor! Wonder how Saif felt about that one! The two love birds answered more questions and signed autographs for screaming fans who demanded that Saif removed his shirt! That never happened but it seemed the fans were pleased with what they got.

'Golmaal Returns' bigger & better

Shree Ashtavinayak Cinevision and director Rohit Shetty make a winning combo. The producer-director duo came together in GOLMAAL and the results were favourable. The laughathon proved a money spinner, with the producers/distributors laughing all the way to the bank.

Now the winning combo has teamed up for the second time in GOLMAAL RETURNS. And the second instalment of the GOLMAAL franchise promises even more fun. How do we know that? Well, this writer had an exclusive dekho of its first promo as also two [entire] songs from the film [the promos will be on air by mid-September].

GOLMAAL RETURNS promises double dhamaal as there's glamour in abundance this time. Besides a bevy of beauties [Kareena Kapoor, Amrita Arora, Celina Jaitley and Anjana Sukhani], there's a new actor in place of Sharman Joshi. It's Shreyas Talpade.

What does one look forward to in the promo and also in those two songs? We won't reveal much, but here's something that you can relish… In Ajay's debut-making film PHOOL AUR KAANTE, the actor made a grand entry atop two moving bikes. The same feat was repeated in GOLMAAL. Now watch Ajay atop two Hummers, while Kareena makes an entry on a sports bike.

The title song has all the germs to be a chartbuster. The energy is infectious and you're hooked on to it the moment you watch it. But the song that also catches your attention is the one where Ajay and Arshad are at loggerheads. Right from bows and arrows to blasts, this song has it all. The makers have spent a fortune [Rs. 2.5 cr.?] on this number.

If the songs of GOLMAAL RETURNS are an indication of what is to follow, expect a laugh-riot to explode this Diwali.

Finally Imran agree to do Aamir Khan's 'Delhi Belly'

Will he? Wont he? Will he? Wont he? This in and out game has been going on for a very long time. But now Aamir Khan finally seems to have found his leading man for his home production Delhi Belly. In case you are wondering who the lucky boy is, its none other than Bollywood's latest pin-up boy and Aamir's very own bhanja- Imran Khan.

While the rumors have been going around for a long time that Imran had signed the film, it's only recently that the actor has finally given his nod. In case you are wondering what took Imran so long to give the nod to his maamujaan it's the same old dates-issue.

Apparently, Imran's dates were booked with Soham's Luck but as luck would have it the dates of Luck got preponed which gives Imran time to do Delhi Belly.

Imran will be seen playing a young foreign returned guy in the sex comedy- Delhi Belly For the uninitiated, Delhi Belly is being directed by noted ad filmmaker Abhinay Deo.

Must say, Aamir Khan is shaping his Bhanja's career immaculately.

Sushhhhhhh......ke ghar mein koi rehta hai!

Since Sushmita Sen's split with ad filmmaker Manav Menon, there's been talk of her bonding with Dulha Mil Gaya director, debutant Mudassar Aziz. Sources reveal that Sush and Mudassar are extremely fond of each other.

The latest buzz doing the rounds is that Aziz has moved in with Sen at her Khar apartment.

There are hushed whispers from Sushmita's neighbours on Ambedkar Road about the director and the actress living in together. Eyewitness accounts reveal that Mudassar is often spotted in the building and is even seen driving her around.

A source reveals, "Initially, he'd come around only on weekends. But since the last few weeks, Aziz has been a resident of the building."

It is learnt that Sush is quite thrilled with Mudassar moving in. "They get along like a house on fire. In fact, he's quite fond of her daughter Renee as well. Apart from Dulha Mil Gaya, he also helped Sen prepare for her reality TV show, Ek Khiladi Ek Haseena which will air on Colors."

Even though Dulha Mil Gaya isn't complete as yet, Aziz has been taking a keen interest in Sushmita's historical epic, Rani Laxmibai. "Even though they haven't gone public with their relationship, the fact that Mudassar is living in with Sush speaks volumes about them."
