Amisha read many books about the period and considers William Dalrymple's 'White Mughal' as the reference point.Says Amisha, “I was fascinated when I read 'White Mughal' because it talks about those times. It was a reference point in terms of sketching the character, in terms of characterization. In fact, Aamir and [director] Ketan Mehta helped me all the way.”
