In his next, Rakesh Mehra directed 'Rang De Basanti'; Aamir has already got Arjun Rampal ousted from it. Arjun is being replaced by a South Indian hero. Not only Arjun, Aamir succeeded to keep Shah Rukh out of the project. The producers wished to sign Shah Rukh Khan for the movie due to his international fame, but Aamir saw it that Shah Rukh's role is completely omitted. Now the movie will now revolve around him only. 'Rang De Basanti' is a film on the historical character of Indian freedom fighter Chandrashekhar Azaad; Aamir will play the role of Chandrashekhar Azaad, Arjun Rampal was supposed to play the role of Bhagat Singh.
