Bips don’t li(k)e

She sent the script of Acid Factory back to Sanjay Gupta with a request: Rework my role or I walk!

“It’s not important for me to be the only female lead. I don’t mind sharing a script with five other girls. How does it matter as long as my role is well-defined? I’m never one to look over my shoulder at what others are doing. That can only make you miserable and insecure.”

    One of the boys?

But she still has reservations about her role in this all-boys action flick, “I just seem to be the token glamour quotient. I’ve asked Sanjay Gupta to flesh out my role and make me part of the action, make me one of the boys. I don’t want to be just the female presence.”

Gupta has promised to rewrite the role and tailor it to Bipasha’s requirements. “I’d love to be part of Acid Factory. The cast is very likeable.” There is Danny Denzongpa, Irrfan Khan, Aftab Shivdasani and old friend Dino Morea. Yet the actress is very clear, “I’m looking forward to working in Acid Factory but only if my role is modified.”

    Getting intense

Acid Factory isn’t the only Sanjay Gupta film Bipasha has been offered. She might be working in an intense love triangle that Rituparno Ghosh will direct. “I loved working with Ritu in Sab Charitra Kalpunik. I’d love to do a Hindi film with him. And Sanjay Gupta is a terrific producer. We’ve worked on a very unusual and disturbing film called Pankh.”
