Salman: Never be a copy cat

The actor speaks on how to become a star at Whistling Woods

Acting students of Whistling Woods International were in for a surprise when they had Salman Khan come in as a guest speaker. Salman shared his 22 years of experience in Bollywood with the students about how he has maintained himself for so many years.

He regaled the students with his wit and shared the secrets of being a 'star actor' than just being a an actor. He emphasised on physical fitness, look, style and personality along with 'quality acting' which they are learning now at Whistling Woods.

He gave a lot of tips to these aspiring actors and insisted on how they shouldn't imitate any other actor. "Then you will always be at number 2. If you copy someone, you can never be a star. You will always remain a copy of the star," said Salman.

He also shared his experience working with various directors including Sooraj Barjatya to Sanjay Bhassali, David Dhawan and Subhash Ghai. He said, "All have different styles of working and I adapt each director's style to give my best. Every actor has to know and understand the director's vision before he starts working with him. That’s how he can justify a character."

Speaking on personality grooming he said, "An actor has to be a good human being first , not a pretentious one." He further added, "A actor must spend alot of time and care for his body and face because this is the only instrument with which any actor can successfully exhibit his talent on big screen."
