Satish Kaushik, who has directed Aishwarya Rai in 'Humara Dil Apke Paas Hain', said though Ash is very professional, but her approach to acting is so 'pupil-like', what works both in favour and against her. "Her schoolgirl approach of executing exactly what has been told to her is great because it speeds up th e process to a great deal. But then somewhere she looses her individuality," added Satish. "During a song sequence with her in the film, I observed that Ash in her endeavor to do exactly what the choreographer was showing her imitates her. She forgets her individual expressions and begins to look like a proxy of the choreographer. This is a huge problem because the expressions are not hers but it's her face. So there is a terrible mismatch and her personality isn't leveraged to the best. With a face like that, I think it's real tragic," remembered the ace director. And Satish has an advice to Ash in this respect, 'When, you have a million-dollar face, why don't you put on expressions that match those millions!'
